'ND Stampede' hard red spring wheat (RFP-360)

ND Stampede wheat

ND Stampede is a hard red spring wheat variety developed by North Dakota State University and was released by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station in 2024. The variety is a short statured wheat with high yield potential and adaptation to a wide area of the Northern Plains. Compared with 'Faller', it has similar yield and improved straw strength, shorter height, greater rust resistance, and superior end use quality. It has good milling and baking quality.

ND Stampede has been tested extensively in the breeding program, statewide yield trials, Minnesota variety trial, and Uniform Regional Nursery. It is moderately resistant to FHB, moderately susceptible but similar to many commercial cultivars for BLS, and is moderately resistant to leaf and stem rust.

To help ensure genetic purity, 'ND Stampede' Hard Red Spring Wheat is protected under PVPA Title V (certificate no. pending) and must be sold as a class of certified seed.
