'Walsh'
'Walsh' was released by NDSU in 2001. It is an indeterminate type soybean with purple flowers, grey pubescence and brown pods that hold seed with a dull yellow seed coat and yellow hila. The variety has high peroxidase seed coat activity. 'Walsh' is high yielding for its maturity. Trials averaged over 3 years in eastern ND and western MN indicate that Walsh yields about 8% better than 'Traill'. 'Walsh' is 5 to 7 days earlier than Lambert, but yields are similar. Expected to replace both 'Agassiz' and 'Traill', 'Walsh' provides excellent disease resistance and increased yield for NDand MN growing conditions.
