Novel Nozzle Assembly for Delivering Ultra-Fine Collimated Aerosol Beams

RFT-223

Aerosol beam flow has previously been thought to depend only on particle inertia and the Stokes drag force of interaction between gas flow and particles.  A combined theoretical and experimental evaluation of the gas/particle interactions in aerosol micro-flows has resulted in a technological breakthrough by scientists at North Dakota State.

The novel Collimated Aerosol Beam-Direct Write (CAB-DW™) apparatus allows reproducible formations of beams with diameters as thin as 1 µm!
